Have you ever been confused about the amount of steel structure after seeing the drawings? If so, this article will help you master the method of calculating the amount of steel structure through drawings. Let's take a look with the editor together.
1. Steel Roof Frame & Steel Grid Frame
a. Calculate the weight of the steel material according to the size shown in the design drawing, and the weight of holes, trimmings, and cutting limbs shouldn’t be deducted. The weight of welding rods, rivets, bolts, etc. will not be added again.
b. Irregular or polygonal steel plate should be calculated by the area of its circumscribed regular rectangle.
c. The connection forms such as spherical nodes and steel plate nodes shall be distinguished for the steel grid.
d. Unit of measurement is T(ton).
2. Steel Brackets & Steel Trusses
a. Calculate the weight of the steel material according to the size shown in the design drawing, and the weight of holes, trimmings, and cutting limbs shouldn’t be deducted. The weight of welding rods, rivets, bolts, etc. will not be added again.
b. Irregular or polygonal steel plate should be calculated by the area of its circumscribed regular rectangle.
c. Unit of measurement is T(ton).
3. Steel Columns & Steel Beams
a. Calculate the weight of the steel material according to the size shown in the design drawing, and the weight of holes, trimmings, and cutting limbs shouldn’t be deducted. The weight of welding rods, rivets, bolts, etc. will not be added again. Irregular or polygonal steel plate should be calculated by the area of its circumscribed regular rectangle. Specifically including solid web columns, hollow web columns, steel pipe columns, steel beams and steel crane beams, etc.
b. The corbels attached to the steel column are incorporated into the steel column engineering quantity.
c. The gusset plate, strengthening ring, lining pipe and corbel on the steel pipe column are incorporated into the steel pipe column engineering quantity.
d. If the steel brake beam, steel brake truss, and car stop are installed, then the engineering quantity should be incorporated into the steel crane beam
e. Unit of measurement is T(ton).
4. Floor Panel & Wall Panel Made of Profiled Steel Plate
a. Floorpanel made of profiled steel plate: Calculated by the horizontal projection area of the pavement according to the size of the design diagram, the area of columns, stacks and holes within 0.3 ㎡ are not deducted. The unit of measurement is ㎡.
b. Wall panel made of profiled steel plate: The paving area should be calculated according to the design drawing. The area of holes within 0.3㎡ is not deducted, and the areas of corners, edges, and window flashings are not calculated separately. The unit of measurement is ㎡. The reinforced concrete is poured into the profiled steel plate. The concrete and steel bars are calculated according to the relevant regulations.
5. Steel Components
a. The weight should be calculated according to the size shown in the design. Such as bracings, purlins, steel skylight frames, steel wall frames (including columns, beams and connecting rods), steel platforms, steel walkways, steel railings, steel funnels, steel brackets, sporadic steel components, and etc. Without deducting the weight of holes, trimming, and cutting limbs, the weight of welding rods, rivets, bolts, etc. will not be increased.
b. Irregular or polygonal steel plate should be calculated by the area of its circumscribed regular rectangle. Unit of measurement is T(ton).
6. Steel Mesh
The area should be calculated according to the size of the design drawing, including production, transportation, installation, painting, etc.
