Influence And Preventive Measures of Wind Load During Portal Steel Frame Structure Installation
Many companies and construction teams will be affected by wind load when installing steel structures on site more or less. If the local wind load is very big, then the construction will become much more hard and difficult. So what can be done to prevent or reduce the effects of wind loads? Let's follow the editor and find out!

1. Installation Characteristics of Portal Steel Frame Structure
The on-site installation of portal steel frame factory is generally started from the position where the roof horizontal bracing is provided in the middle of the factory, and then spread to the surroundings for construction. During the installation procedure and construction, it is necessary to ensure the temporary stability of the steel beams and columns to prevent tipping. Temporary steel wire ropes are generally used for fixing. If there are horizontal supports and inter-column supports between installed steel frames, then they need to be installed once steel frames are settled. Ensure that a solid unit system could be formed between the steel frames.

2. Influence of Wind Load During The Construction of Portal Steel Frame Structure
The impact of wind load on the steel structure is different during the use and installation of portal steel frame plant. It is basically close to the model that established in the design stage without any difference. As the enclosure structure hasn’t set during installation, every component is in the windward state.
If the longitudinal length of the plant is relatively long and the plant top elevation is relatively high, then the total longitudinal windward area is larger, and the influence to the stability of longitudinal wind resistance for entire structure will be much more bigger. In the event of a gust of wind (instant wind pressure), the installed steel frame may suddenly fall over, and resulting in a vicious accident.
3. Main Measures To Prevent Wind Load Hazards During Installation
During the installation procedure of portal steel frame structure, considering its own structure, the vertical windward area is large. The pit wind mainly depends on the column bracing and the connection part between the column bottom and foundation (generally anchor bolts). The instantaneously wind load longitudinally resistance is weak, and it is necessary to conduct a check calculation to determine whether reinforcement and related methods are required or not. The steel columns are main horizontal windward area, and there are almost no windward space for steel beam. At the same time, each steel frame is relatively rigid in its plane, and there is no problem to resist instantaneous wind pressure.
Longitudinal reinforcement measures: Operators could install temporary wire rope on site to achieve a relatively simple longitudinal reinforcement. Set up a steel wire rope from the top of the steel column from the longitudinal direction of the plant to each two sides. The other end of the steel wire rope must be anchored, and its anchor point needs to be able to resist the internal force which generated by steel wire rope under transient wind pressure. The temporary wire rope can only be removed after all construction of the outer wall and roofing enclosure completed.
