Five Important Quality Control Points for Steel Structure Projects (1)

A. Pre-embedding of ground bolts

The pre-buried quality of the ground bolts directly affects the installation quality of the steel structure, and it is important to control the position, verticality, length and elevation of the ground bolts (group) to reduce the reaming and adjustment workload (even to avoid rework) and improve the quality of the structure installation.

The pre-burial method of the ground bolts can be directly pre-buried method or pre-drilled hole method. Supervising engineers must strictly check the reasonableness and reliability of the pre-buried bolt construction method before the foundation concrete is poured, and whether the measured indicators are within the specification.

B. Quality control of welding project

Welding engineering is one of the most important sub-projects of steel structure fabrication and installation engineering, supervision engineers must be prepared in advance, welding process and finished product inspection in all aspects, and effectively make the quality control of welding engineering work.

At present, the vast majority of steel structure construction units in our city are equipped with automatic submerged arc welding machine, partly with semi-automatic gas shielded welding machine, only in individual parts of the manual welding.

Welding quality problems exist more in the manual welding seam, these problems are: weld tumor, slag, porosity, no weld through, biting edge, wrong edge, weld size deviation, no arc plate, welding deformation is not corrected, spatter cleanup is not clean.

In view of this situation, the supervising engineer must do the following work.

a.Check the factory quality certificate of welding raw materials.
b.Check the welder's certificate of induction.
c.To supervise the necessary welding process test.
d.Welding process to strengthen inspection, supervision of the implementation of technical measures.
e.Strict inspection of the appearance of the quality of the weld and the actual measurement of the size of the weld.
f.Supervise the work of non-destructive testing.
